The first
stop is part of North America's largest park area, Wrangell-St.
Elias National Park, host to many of North America's
highest mountains. Walk along moraines of ancient glaciers,
surrounded by the towering peaks of Mts. Blackburn and St.
Elias. Pass deeper into the Alaskan interior and to the
city of Fairbanks. Visit the natural history museum or stroll
along the historic downtown waterfront.
On to
Denali
National Park , "the Great One", which is
Alaska's
premier National Park. Ride the shuttle to view moose,
caribou and bear in their natural habitat, and North America's
tallest peak, Mt. McKinley. Take a scenic flight for a bird's-eye
view of this enormous mountain dwarfing the landscape.

For the
truly adventurous, try whitewater rafting in the rushing
waters of the Nenana River. Finish the day watching dogsled
teams 'mush' at the famous demonstration at park headquarters.
Back to Anchorage, Alaska's largest city, to sample the
nightlife and local cuisine.
Head south to the Kenai
Peninsula and Portage Lake and walk along the shore,
watching icebergs drift by. Using Seward as a base, explore
the interior of Kenai
Fjords National Park. Hike to the top of Exit Glacier
and view endless mountain peaks blanketed by the Harding
Icefields. Cruise along one of many fjords within the Park,
searching for whales, puffins, and seals along the way.
Returning to port, pause at a tidewater
glacier and witness icebergs being formed as they calve
into the sea. Visit the Kenai
National Wildlife Refuge to explore the picturesque
landscape by foot or canoe. Travel to the end of the peninsula
and the quaint village of Homer, the halibut fishing capital
of the world. Spend a day with the locals fishing for the
'big one'. Go mountain biking or relax at one of many local
establishments, before returning to Anchorage where this
truly remarkable tour ends."
