40 days Roundtrip
- New York to New York
|
|
or Los Angeles
to Los Angeles
|
Explore the monuments and museums
that reflect this nation's heritage in Washington DC. Follow
the spine of the Appalachian Mountains, and try whitewater
rafting in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains. Cross Alabama
into New Orleans, where food, fun, and music flow 24 hours.
Texas is next, and Texas is BIG!!! - three days to cross,
but not without seeing the beauty and history of San Antonio
(remember the Alamo!) and the border town of Del Rio (margaritas
in Mexico, anyone?).
New Mexico follows with the vast
underground world of Carlsbad Caverns NP. Then to Santa
Fe, one of the oldest cities in America, with a rich variety
of cultures - Pueblo Indians, Spanish, Mexican, and American.
The largest Native American tribe is the Navajo, and on
horseback or by jeep, we explore their greatest natural
treasure, Monument Valley.
'Grand' hardly describes the
next stop, Grand Canyon NP, but there is plenty of time
to walk, hike, take a scenic flight, or just sit on the
edge and wonder at how grand it really is. From a natural
to a man-made wonder, Las Vegas! The city has evolved into
much more than just gambling and bright lights - you gotta
see it to believe it! Los Angeles and the Pacific Coast
are next! Spend a day in Disneyland and drive down Hollywood
Boulevard, before driving up the magnificent Pacific Coast
Highway. San Francisco will surely steal your heart with
its beautiful setting and great variety of shops, sights
and nightlife.

|
Back to nature! Yosemite is stunning,
with giant sequoia trees, rugged mountains, leaping waterfalls,
and sheer cliffs. Enjoy the resort town of Lake Tahoe, before
heading to Salt Lake City and Temple Square. Visit the Old
West in Jackson - try mountain biking, hiking or rafting
by day, and western dancing and cowboy fun by night. Travel
through Grand Teton NP, where jagged peaks shoot straight
up more than 2000 meters, and enter incomparable Yellowstone
NP, where boiling water erupts into the sky, roaring waterfalls
explode into spectacular canyons, and wild animals still
roam free.
More cowboy life awaits in the historic
towns of Cody and Deadwood. Mount Rushmore and the moon-like
landscape of Badlands NP in the heart of Sioux Indian country
show off the best of South Dakota. Chicago offers a magnificent
skyline, world-class museums, and some of the best Blues
music anywhere.
Niagara means "thundering water",
and a ride on the "Maid of the Mist" boat to the
base of this majestic waterfall explains why! New York City
is the perfect place to wrap it all up, and bid fond farewells
to a group of new-found friends."
