AmeriCan Adventures tours can be easily booked from anywhere in
the world. Bookings can be made on-line,
directly to one of our offices by e-mail, fax or telephone or through
our network of worldwide agents. Please contact
us for further information if you are unsure how to book or would
like details of your nearest agent.
We welcome adults of all ages on our tours. We do not have a set
upper age limit but just ask that all passengers are young at heart
and have a spirit for adventure travel.
Don't worry... we make it easy! Most of our first timers actually
grow to love sleeping in the great outdoors. You will sleep in high
quality, heavy duty four person tents which you share with only
one other of the same sex. We provide all passengers with a thermal
sleeping mat. For those passengers who want added comfort, you can
bring your own self-inflatable air mattress.
All our trips use both National and State park campsites
and also a wide assortment of private campgrounds. Almost all will
have hot showers and flush toilets, some will even have swimming
pools, bars and laundry facilities on site while others will accentuate
the natural beauty of the area and thus tend to be more rustic.
We keep "roughing it" to a minimum. Camping with AmeriCan
Adventures is easy and fun... you'll love it!

Yes. AmeriCan Adventures offers a hotel twinshare facility
for 3 days before the trip and 3 days after. So, if you want to
see the city lights before or after your tour, please feel free
to add on extra accommodation.
Yes, all trips require you to have a sleeping bag. We recommend
a 3-season medium bag with liner for summer trips, and a heavier
one for spring and fall trips. Most people prefer to bring their
own, but you can order a good quality bag on the first day of your
tour (available for New York City, Los Angeles, and Seattle departures
only). Regular sleeping bags cost US$40, early/late season sleeping
bags cost US$80.
One suitcase or rucksack, plus your sleeping bag, plus
one carry on bag for the van. Be sure to check the weight allowance
of your luggage with your airline or travel agent.

We recommend that you budget US$25 per day for your optional
activities and snacks along the way (excluding food kitty and en
route hotel costs). Small denomation travelers checks, in the local
currency, is the safest way to carry money. An 'emergency fund'
of US$100 is a terrific idea for that dream item that you didn't
budget for. Remember, those of you who are bound for both Canada
and the US, to split your purchase of travelers checks between US$
and $CAN.
Citizens of many countries do not need a visa to holiday
in North America, but you should check with the nearest embassy
for the country you are traveling to. Please keep in mind that some
trips spend time in the United States and Canada so you may require
visa for both countries.
All passengers joining an AmeriCan Adventures tour must be
covered by personal travel insurance and we also recommend taking
out baggage and cancellation insurance. Ensure that your insurance
policy covers you for all the optional activities (mountain biking,
whitewater rafting etc) which interest you.
Please contact us for details of our comprehensive travel insurance
policy available to all passengers residing in the European Union.
Yes, approximately 4 weeks prior to departure we send travel
documents, and a pre-departure booklet to all our passengers. This
provides detailed information on what to pack, what to expect, optional
activity costs and just about everything you can think of. If you
have booked through a Travel Agent this will be forwarded by them
to you.
Although passengers come from many countries around the world,
all tours are conducted in English.
