WHY GRAND AMERICAN ADVENTURES?
In 2010 our open age Footloose program has been renamed Grand American Adventures, and celebrates 15 years of delivering some of the finest small group adventures throughout the Americas. To us, travel is more than just getting from here to there; it's about the journey itself, the people you meet and the incredible discoveries along the way.
We are a company of travellers, and with most of us starting out as tour leaders, we know the Americas like the back of our hand. We've camped out under the stars with the Navajo of Monument Valley, hiked the Canadian Rockies' wooded trails, rafted the mighty Colorado River and trekked the fabled Inca Trail; it has always been our passion to share these amazing experiences with you.
Our local tour leaders will take you beyond the guidebooks and off the busy tourist trails, introducing you to some of our favourite destinations on the map. We know where to go and what to do; all that's left is for you to explore to your heart's content. We hope that you enjoy choosing your next adventure from over 45 unique itineraries throughout North, Central and South America, and we look forward to you travelling with Grand American Adventures.
Small Group Adventures
We operate under the simple principle that, 'small is beautiful', the smaller the group, the more intimate and rewarding the experience - our average group size is 12 people so you are guaranteed a great experience. Travellers come from all over the world with a shared desire for an active outdoor adventure and exploring the national parks. There is generally an even male/female mix with the majority of people travelling independently, so you'll definitely have lots in common with your fellow adventurers. In fact, past passengers consistently tell us that it feels more like travelling with a group of friends than on an organised tour!
NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENTS - You do not pay an additional supplement as a single traveller. If you are travelling on your own, you will automatically share a room or tent with a fellow member of the group of the same sex. However, at the time of booking, you may request a single room for an additional fee.
Active & Fun
Every Grand American Adventures trip includes a variety of included and optional activities, ensuring every day is different from the last, from hiking the scenic trails to horse back riding or mountain biking, to name just a few. Your tour leader will organise the activities and fit them neatly into the tour schedule. You do not have to be athletic or experienced, nor is age important. All that's important is that you're relatively fit, and most importantly, that you're keen to participate.
Besides the many included activities, there are often numerous optional activities from which to choose. Snorkelling, rafting, glacier trekking and even a scenic helicopter flight are just a few examples. Optional activities are not included in the tour price, so you're able to choose activities according to your own tastes and budget. The tour leader will be happy to answer any questions and organise these activities locally on your behalf.
Note: Ask about our travel insurance that is specifically tailored to cover all the activities we offer.

What Our Clients Are Saying:
Mexico itself was truly amazing and I never expected to see and do so much in just 3 weeks. Our guide took us to beautiful and unexpected places, amending and adding to the itinerary as we went along, making the trip feel much more personal to our group.
